Deb Dana

As a Clinical Psychologist my goal is to create a safe, connected space in which to explore the stories, perspectives, and sensitivities, of those I see.
I love working within relationships, with young people and couples - as this is where my blend of compassion, knowledge, relational insight, and evidence-based skills are most effective.
Navigating unexpected transitions, traumatic events, longstanding differences or loneliness, are all part of the human experience. We know that it’s not what we've gone through that defines us, but how we’ve experienced it and what happens afterward that shapes whether we struggle, feel stuck, or grow stronger.
It's during our most difficult times that we need to be heard, seen and understood. And that is when growth becomes possible.
Whether you're dealing with anxiety, mood struggles, trauma, or relationship betrayals, I am here. Whatever that looks like, we'll start, find the glimmers, and go from there.

For couples, the therapy room is like a container in which relief can be found from disconnection, conflict, distrust, betrayals and unhelpful patterns. Using Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, I guide couples to communicate, understand each other’s deeper needs, strengthen emotional safety, and create a more connected, supportive relationship.

I provide a supportive space for children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, big emotions, and stressful life experiences. Therapy helps young people feel safe to open up, make sense of experiences, and build confidence, emotional regulation, and resilience. I also work closely with parents, supporting them to strengthen connection with their child, repair ruptures, and feel confident in being a stronger, wiser guide.

At Glimmers, I provide autism and ADHD assessments for children and adolescents in Wollongong, using gold-standard tools like the ADOS and cognitive measures. Assessments identify neurodevelopmental differences, guide tailored supports, and help parents understand and connect with their child. Reports align with NDIS access to ensure appropriate interventions.
