Teen Therapy in Wollongong

Supporting Adolescents with Anxiety, Stress, and Neurodivergence

Adolescence is a time of growth, change, and discovery — but it can also be confusing, intense, and overwhelming. Teenagers are figuring out who they are, navigating social pressures, managing big emotions, and balancing their growing independence with a need for support.

As a psychologist in Wollongong, I work with teens and their families to help them navigate these challenges safely and effectively, building the skills and confidence they need to thrive.

Who I Work With

I support teenagers who are experiencing:

  • Anxiety or stress
  • Low mood or depression
  • OCD or other intrusive thoughts
  • Social challenges or relationship struggles
  • Effects of trauma or difficult experiences
  • Executive skill difficulties, particularly for neurodivergent teens

I have a particular interest in working with neurodivergent young people (e.g., autistic teens, ADHD) and use a neuroaffirming approach that respects and values the unique ways they see and experience the world. My goal is always to create a space where teens feel safe, respected, and truly listened to.

How I Work

I use the DNA-V model, based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to help teens:

  • Notice and manage difficult thoughts and feelings
  • Build psychological flexibility and resilience
  • Strengthen relationships and communication
  • Explore and clarify what really matters to them

Therapy with me is about more than coping — it’s about helping young people grow into themselves with confidence, connection, and direction.

I focus on developmentally-appropriate strategies, helping teens learn to:

  • Manage anxiety and stressful experiences
  • Navigate social and emotional challenges
  • Understand and leverage their neurodivergent strengths

A Neuroaffirming Approach

I believe that every teen’s brain and experience are valid. Neurodivergence isn’t something to “fix” — it’s part of who they are. I take a strengths-based, affirming approach, helping teens:

  • Understand how their mind works
  • Develop strategies that work for their way of thinking
  • Build confidence while respecting their identity and perspective

Working Together

Therapy can help teens feel heard, understood, and supported — and it can provide parents with practical strategies to support their child at home.

If your teen is struggling with anxiety, stress, social pressures, or challenges related to neurodivergence, I can help them navigate this stage of life with support, skills, and confidence.
